Lawn Fawn // Helloween

Hello again! It's my birthday in a few days. October 31 to be exact. Yes. You read it right. I celebrate my birthday every Halloween! For my party invites, I decided to make a card that I could also enter to the Lawnscaping Challenge #92.

http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com/2014/10/lawnscaping-challenge-halloween-or.html

I don't own any Lawn Fawn Halloween sets yet (still in transit). It was definitely a challenge. But I managed to make it work. I didn't use any stamps for this card. I used the Lawn Fawn die cuts I had on hand.

I used the die from the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Journaling Card set to cut out the base. It was my first time trying out the die cut inlaying technique. I used the Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello die to spell out "helloween." For the deer's silhouette, i used the die from Lawn Fawn's Into the Woods set. For the grass, I used the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die.

For the moon, I cut out a circle from white cardstock then used Judikins Iridescent Sparkle Embossing Powder to add texture and shine to it.  I also used it on top of plain black cardstock for the base.

I think it turned out pretty cute. As usual, I had so much fun making it. Thoughts?

  3. You did awesome for not having any halloween stamps! I did a card like this a year or so ago with a giraffe and an african sunset. I've always loved the look and this is another perfect translation of a silhouette. You did so great! And I love the sparkle on the back panel. It really sets the whole card off. Happy early birthday! Thanks for playing with us at Lawnscaping!
